Inspiration for this project was based on a desire to create an elemental, restful place. A retreat, grounded in modern Japanese Zen-like design, brings the primary bathroom suite with a semi-enclosed shower tub area into a private hideaway.

BEFORE

The existing the bathroom was was a poorly executed renovation completed by the former homeowner and was burdened by outdated fixtures and a leaking built-in tub. Water damaged the bathroom and extended its reach down into the kitchen, necessitating minor repairs in that area as well.

AFTER

The design was to be a departure from the traditional style and into an escape to revive the senses. Light cascades through the window with natural beams enriching the space and generating an atmosphere of rest and relaxation. The space invites you to a time away from the stressors of everyday life for peace, rest, and rejuvenation.
